Jandia Guide

Jandia is a peninsula in the Fuerteventura, a Spanish island and is one of the Canary Islands, in the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of Africa. The city is bordered mostly by beaches. Most part of the city is rocky and mountainous with palm trees. The tallest mountain of the peninsula is Pico de Jandia.

The nearest airport is at Fuerteventura and can be reached in less than 1 hour. There is also a motorway that connects the city to Fuerteventura. The airport is situated right next to the sea and gives you a great impression as soon as you step out.

The city mostly gets German visitors all round the year and this is reflected by the higher percentage of bars and restaurants being owned by Germans. There are also a large number of Spanish bars and hotels that have satellite television for broadcasting football matches live.

The beaches in Jandia are a sight to watch and the people of Jandia hold it with high esteem. The light house not only acts as warning to ships of the rocky terrain but is the point at which the beach is divided into two sections.

The leeward beach has a very long spirit and each time after the tidal wave you can see an enormous lake. You can always find wind surfers and kite boarders in this beach trying to hone their skills to a better level.

The windward beach is less accessible to tourists as the sea conditions are very wild in this area. An excellent view of both the beaches can be seen from the Pico de Zarza.

Beyond, in the other end of the peninsula is the wilderness that is worth exploring. It is recommended to take a local as a helping hand and to hire a 4X4 vehicle to travel and explore these areas.

 What do I need to do when picking up a car?

To pick up your car, you will need your voucher, passport, driver's license and a credit card. It is very important that your driver's license and credit card are in the same name as the main driver. Keep in mind that the local rental company will reserve a certain amount on your credit card as a deposit. This requires the PIN code for your credit card. If your driver's license is foreign (for example, in Chinese), you must bring a translation with you. Only your original passport and driver's license will be accepted - a copy is not sufficient.

 Are there any additional costs?

In general, our rates are all-inclusive. Should there be any additional costs, our booking department will get in touch with you before issuing the invoice. Should you object, you can always cancel your reservation with no obligations attached (at least 48 hours in advance).

What kind of insurance is applicable to my car rental?

In general, Liability Insurance, Fire Insurance, All-Risks Insurance and Theft Insurance are included in the cost of your rental car.

 What is a worry-free label?
