Rafael Hernandez Airport, in Aguadilla, is seen by many as the gateway to the towns of Puerto Rico's Puerto del Sol. Located beside Ramey Air Force Base, it services the communities of Aguadilla, Arecibo, Isabel, Camuy, Mayaguez, Rincon and Cabo Rojo.

A number of airlines provide flights from Rafael Hernandez Apto. These include Continental Airlines (Newark), Jet Blue Airways (JFK & Orlando) and Spirt Airlines (Ft. Lauderdale & Orlando).

Within the airport are a number of shops and restaurants which can be visited before your flight. A car hire service can be booked here from Ramey Base. When exploring this vast region that is best known for its coastal areas, car hire is strongly recommended.

If your driver's license is foreign (for example, in Chinese), you must bring a translation with you. Only your original passport and driver's license will be accepted - a copy is not sufficient.
