Llandudno Guide

Guide

Located in the center of the two beaches, the Great Orme and Little Orme, is the quaint seaside town of Llandudno. There are two popular beaches along it's coast, North Shore and West Shore beach. Llandudno is considered as the most popular and largest seaside town in Wales, and it is usually referred to as the 'Queen of Welsh Resorts', an old name dating back to 1864. There are many car hire suppliers in the area, providing tourists with a chance to explore this charming place.

The Great Ormes, is in constant development and has been since the Stone Age. Owen Williams was an architect in the area and was the sole reason behind the development of marshlands that can be found behind Llandudno Bay, great for walkers to enjoy whilst on their holiday retreat.

Many tourists opt for car hire as their transport for the duration of their holiday. Visitors get to see both Llandudno and its surroundings such as Colwyn Bay, Anglesey, Bangor and the quaint village of Portmerion in the south along the welsh peninsular. From 1862 to the year 1871, a lady named Alice Liddle from The Adventures of Alice in Wonderland, originally spent her holiday's in Llandudno when she was a little girl.

Llandudno's principal shopping streets include the Mostyn Street, which leads to Mostyn Broadway street as well as the Mostyn Avenue. Major banking institutions, churches, shopping, as well as the town's public library are all housed in this street.

On the estuary of the River Conwy is the calm and peaceful beach of West Shore. The North Shore is in turn connected to this beach via Gloddeath Avenue, a broad dual carriageway. These beaches are a must-see and tourists can reach here either by public transport or by renting a vehicle from a car hire service provider. Search our website for fantastic offers.
