Falun is a small town; therefore, exploration by foot is possible. A bicycle is also an optimal form of transportation. Bus far in Falun is reasonable and infants ride free. If you would rather take a taxi cab, which will cost a good deal more, you will need to call ahead and have one sent to pick you up, as catching one on the street can be extremely difficult. Taxicabs are most likely to be available for hailing on the streets near the taxi stand at the railway station or downtown on the weekend. Parking is free on most of the streets in Falun.
