Meloneras is split off from Maspalomas by the famous lighthouse at Faro, though the two regions are side by side. There is plenty of hotel accommodation in this area, including both full service resorts and both bungalows and villas. Most of these accommodations tend to be four or five star establishments.

The commercial center of Meloneras contains a nice variety of restaurants and bars, as well as upscale retail establishments.

But the main draw of this region is the eight kilometers of golden-sand beach which defines this entire region. It is within walking distance of most of the Melonara resorts and hotel properties. Some of these hotels even offer their own private beaches, complete with secluded coves and endless beachfront promenades too.

Holiday vacations in the Playa Meloneras area are upscale affairs, where people-watching is often the activity of choice. A great variety of popular bars and restaurants line the sea front and provide the perfect venue for this type of activity. Other pastimes include relaxing on the sand or venturing into one of the neighboring beachfront resorts for a change of scenery.

A local transportation system is available for getting around, but the area can easily be explored on foot as well. Suggested day trips could include a visit to the capital, to soak up its regional flair, as well as indulging in its overall cultural offerings. Local cuisine is not to be missed and a local tasting session should be a must do for any vacationer to this region. A wide variety of restaurants and other eateries are available, and visitors our encouraged to enjoy the Spanish fare, ranging from succulent paella dishes to the mouth-watering tapas.

What do I need to do when picking up a car?

To pick up your car, you will need your voucher, passport, driver's license and a credit card. It is very important that your driver's license and credit card are in the same name as the main driver. Keep in mind that the local rental company will reserve a certain amount on your credit card as a deposit. This requires the PIN code for your credit card. If your driver's license is foreign (for example, in Chinese), you must bring a translation with you. Only your original passport and driver's license will be accepted - a copy is not sufficient.

Are there any additional costs?

In general, our rates are all-inclusive. Should there be any additional costs, our booking department will get in touch with you before issuing the invoice. Should you object, you can always cancel your reservation with no obligations attached (at least 48 hours in advance).

What kind of insurance is applicable to my car rental?

In general, Liability Insurance, Fire Insurance, All-Risks Insurance and Theft Insurance are included in the cost of your rental car.
