What do I need to do when picking up a car?

To pick up your car, you will need your voucher, passport, driver's license and a credit card. It is very important that your driver's license and credit card are in the same name as the main driver. Keep in mind that the local rental company will reserve a certain amount on your credit card as a deposit. This requires the PIN code for your credit card. If your driver's license is foreign (for example, in Chinese), you must bring a translation with you. Only your original passport and driver's license will be accepted - a copy is not sufficient.

Are there any additional costs?

Cala'n Blanes is situated on Menorca's rugged west coast and has the most popular beach in the area. The resort is close to the former capital of the island, Ciutadella, but 30 miles from the airport. Cala'n Blanes has grown, together with its neighbours, Cala'n Forcal and Los Delfines, to become Menorca's largest tourist area.

Accommodation, which is mostly apartments, has only been developed since the 1980's and the local shops reflect the self-catering nature of the resort. Explore Cala'n Blanes

The main beach in Cala'n Blanes is the nicest beach in this part of the island, which means it can get very crowded, particularly at weekends. There are more secluded small inlets and bays, but they tend to have rocky shores and deep waters. With car hire, tourists can explore the island's beaches to find the quietest and most picturesque on the whole island.

There are a lot of great attractions for both couples and families in Malta. Younger children should enjoy the Aqua Centre water-park, which is situated between the resort and Ciutadella. The park receives good reports for its cleanliness and the good value offered by its restaurant.

Ciutadella has enough local colour and traditional festivals for everyone! There are daily open-air markets in the Plaza del Mercat, plus those held on Fridays and Saturdays in the Plaza de Es Bon. Other Saints' days and events, which commemorate historic episodes, are held from January onwards.

There are many restaurants, cafes and bars in Ciutadella and its neighbouring resorts. They offer a mix of local and international food and include snack bars and pizzerias.
