Driving
Driving in the Channel Islands is similar to driving in the UK. Driving is on the left. Speed limits must be strictly adhered to, with fines commonly given to anyone caught breaking the limits. Be aware that these limits drop significantly in built-up areas. Seatbelts must be worn at all times by all passengers and passengers under the age of 14 must sit in the rear of the vehicle. As in the UK, it is illegal to drive while using a mobile phone. Parking on a single yellow line often results in a fine. Jersey operates a PayCard system for parking from Monday to Saturday. Purchase a card from a petrol station or newsagent for cheap and easy parking in Jersey.
