Nuremberg Station Guide

Nuremberg became the first city in Germany to build a railway. Today, Nuremberg Central Station is a terminal for major train carriers on the long distance German railway network. The trains on the Nuremberg to Munich high speed track are capable of travelling at about 300 km/h. The line opened on May 28th 2006 resulting in travelling times to Munich being reduced to as to only one hour. Nuremberg was first named in 1050 and rose quickly to be an important city because of its position between two large trade routes. It was later turned into a free imperial city in 1219 and then soon grew to become the finest German city. Nuremberg also became a great centre of Germany's Renaissance period between the 15th and 16th centuries. This made it a huge centre of science, humanism, printing, trading and mechanical invention.

During the middle of the last century, Nuremberg was an unfortunate player in the war. About half of Germany's production of weapons was performed here; therefore the city suffered a lot of damage resulting from bomb attacks during the Second World War and was almost completely destroyed. The German National Railways Museum has its abode in Nuremberg and is a strong source of tourism to the city. The Nuremberg Ring is alleged to be a harbinger of good luck to anyone who touches it. Going into the cultural history of the city or getting into the modern life is what Nuremberg stands for. This is also enjoying all that nature has to offer everyone coming into the city or simply pursuing other private activities of leisure. Nuremberg provides the right atmosphere for people who wish to take a brief break from the hustle and bustle of everyday life just to spend a number of days or weeks with your family members.
