Embrun Guide

Embrun is located in Ontario and is the largest town in the Russell Township. This town is located near to the Trans Canada Highway and is about 30 minutes from Montreal, 40 minutes from Ottawa and 5 hours from Toronto. Embrun downtown will allow you to get car hire to make your travels here a lot easier. Most of the people here are involved in agriculture and the town has experienced an economic boom in recent years. This region is mainly French Canadian and with the result, most of the schools in the area are Franophone schools. The Anglophone school is located in the neighboring town of Russell.

The Embrun Downtown region is home to the business park which has the Place D'Embrun Shopping Mall, business complexes, several restaurants and auto businesses. There is also an industrial park with some semi industries and warehouses and in the Chantal Development you will find the majority of the community in the residential area and to the east you will find the centre of town. The Embrun Airport is a small airport and you can land here if you want to enjoy the tranquil town of Embrun during your vacation. While here you can enjoy some of the local festivals and events like the Embrun Carnival and the Celebrons Ensemble. Most people come into the town with car hire from Ottawa and when you get into the town you can see the wonderful buildings like the 19th Century St. Jacques Church and the monument to Embrun from France.

If your driver's license is foreign (for example, in Chinese), you must bring a translation with you. Only your original passport and driver's license will be accepted - a copy is not sufficient.
