In a previous life the airport was the Allen C, Thompson Field , a military and commercial application inaugurated in 1963 on behalf of Rankin County.

This name change isn't just cosmetic , the international status is accompanied with a Foreign Trade Zone and a resident United States Customs office.

Backyard and Beyond: Mississippians and Their Stories - the first year after Katrina. A profound and historic exhibition of work documenting and portraying the aftermath of Katrina's devastation. Local artist H. C. Porter gives us an engaging multimedia experience of painted portraits with sound recordings and three dimensional installations with live video archive.

Bone Up On Bones is an educational exhibition giving us all an interactive scientific experience. From the puzzle of connecting the ankle to the shin, to the 8 foot femur sculpture this exhibition provides us with a unique mixture of art and science you will remember for years to come.
