Guide

Regarded as the Green Mountain state, Vermont is one of the United States’ most beautiful areas and is a joy to explore with car rental in Vermont. Situated in the northeastern pocket of New England, the state doesn’t contain a coastline. Nevertheless, the highland backbone of Vermont certainly adds that much needed spectacle. The enchanting but small capital, Montpelier, is an important historical town, but Burlington is the largest city and main gateway.

Hiring a Vehicle

Major cities like Burlington, Montpelier and St Albans offer cars for rent. Some of the world’s most well-known suppliers operate within Vermont, including the reliable companies of Avis, Enterprise, and Thrifty. Tourists should compare car hire prior to arrival in the state.

Transport Options

Burlington International Airport, less than two miles from Burlington, is the main airport serving Vermont. Flights to cities like New York, Chicago, Washington, and Orlando occur daily. Greyhound bus lines stop at numerous Vermont cities, including Montpelier, Burlington and Brattleboro. Amtrak railways, Vermont Railway and the Green Mountain Railroad provide transport for visitors. Nearly 3,000 miles of highways span the state, include the I-89 and I-91.

Car Hire Driving Tips in Vermont

Many of the main highways transform into main streets throughout Vermont, so motorists need to drive carefully through towns and observe speed limit changes. Mountain ranges require special care from drivers, and winter roads can be hazardous at times. Nevertheless, roads are in great condition throughout the state, making car hire in Vermont a popular means of travel.

Not to be Missed!
