In the heart of the old Mormon city is Temple Square where you’ll find the Temple, the Tabernacle and the Assembly Hall. You are not allowed enter the Temple (unless you are Mormon) but you can hear some amazing organ concerts in the Tabernacle and the Assembly Hall. The Museum of Church History and Art nearby is also worth a visit. Even if you're not that interested in the Church of Latter-day Saints, it's worth visiting Temple Square for the architecture alone.

By air
Salt Lake City International Airport is located approximately 10kms west of Salt Lake City centre. The airport offers an abundance of transport services to a number of major US cities. The airline Skywest/Delta operates flights to other locations in Utah. The UTA buses provide a regular service to and from the airport. There are also shuttle buses and taxis available from outside of the airports arrivals.
By train
Amtrak trains arrive and depart from the Rio Grande Depot found to the west of the city centre, with a daily service that stops each way on its journey between San Francisco and Chicago. UTA Trax offers a two-line local service around the city.
By bus
Greyhound Buses connect San Francisco, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Denver, Seattle and Portland. The Bus terminal can be found one block west of Temple Square. UTA buses operate throughout the city and its surrounding areas and there are services to the nearby ski resorts during the ski season.
By car
Getting to Salt Lake City by car is easy as there are two interstate highways which intersect at Salt Lake City. These are I-80 east to west and I-15 which heads north to south. There is also a loop road (I-215) that connects the eastern, western and southern edges of the city.
