Pembroke Guide

Guide

Pembroke is a traditional county town, located in West Wales, the administrative centre being Haverfordwest. The town is located on the south Pembrokeshire peninsula along the banks of the Pembroke River. The town is situated in a small valley, which is surrounded by woodland and farmland. Car hire is available at negotiable prices, making it a famous tourist spot. Search and compare by filling in your details above.

Explore Pembroke

One of the most famous landmarks in this area is the Pembroke Castle (pictured), the birthplace of King Henry VII of England. The town is often linking with the very early Christian church; the remains of a grand hall and recently filled-in arched cellars suggest being used as an early church. Tourists can visit these famous landmarks using the available car hire services. While the buildings of Catshole Quarry have recently been buried under materials that were deposited there, the North Shore Quarries are relatively undamaged as are the remains of the Medieval and Elizabethan slipways.

This town has its own rugby club, the Pembroke Rugby Club, which is situated on upper Lamphey road. Other sporting clubs consist of the football team Monkton Swifts, and the Pembroke Cricket Club. West Wales Arts Centre and Pembrokeshire Gallery are some of the art galleries present in the town and should not be missed.

Transport

The railway station on Station Road connects this town to the rest of Wales. Trains starting from this town travel to Carmarthen, Milford Haven and Haverfordwest before reaching Wales. Buses also operate throughout town, and to and from neighbouring towns, such as Haverfordwest, Milford Haven, Carmarthen, Cardigan, Aberystwyth, Tenby and Llanelli.

Car hire services are available throughout the town, however, if you wish to purchase car hire at the cheapest price possible we highly advise you compare online with us. Fill in your details in the form above and let us find you the best deals from over fifty leading car rental suppliers, such as Avis, Hertz, Thrifty and Sixt.
