Located in the southeast corner of England, Kent has long figured prominently in the country’s religious and political history, being the site of its first cathedral and the home of the Church of England. Other principal resort towns along this section of the coast include Whitstable, Broadstairs, and Ramsgate.

Kent’s main entertainment and relaxation destination is the resort town of Margate, popular with holidaymakers for more than two hundred years. The town features a small, beautiful beach, around which have sprung up an assortment of amusement attractions, cafes, restaurants, bars, clubs and pubs, all of which combine to make a stay in Margate exciting for visitors of all ages. Kent’s resort areas and major cities and towns have ample quality accommodation and excellent restaurants.

For a pleasant diversion from the often crowded tourist haunts, head for Kent’s hinterland and southern coast. Royal Tunbridge Wells is a charming spa town, while the seaside resort of Hythe is the gateway to the Romney and Denge marshes, and boasts its own military heritage of the Royal Military Canal and Martello Towers. Further west lies Sussex and more picturesque English coastline and countryside.
