Birmingham West - Halesowen Guide

Halesowen is a town inside the West Midlands of England. The population was estimated around 58,000 approximately in 2001. Many types of public conveyances are available in this town. Therefore, strolling around is not a problem. However, tourists most often avail car hire, to explore each and every part of this town. Besides, opting car hire makes your visit to Halesowen more comfortable and easy than any other public transport, such as taxis and bus shuttles. Previously, there were only two lines connecting Halesowen with other cities and towns. However, these failed, as this was a rural area then consisting of workers and farmers.

Accommodation is not a problem as many hotels and cottages are found over here. The car hire services even enable to visit the town outskirts and taste the delicious foods found there. Moving towards the eastern part of the town, you can locate the Leasowes Park along with a local theatre and a pub. All these were named after the famous poet, William Shenstone. The ruins of the Halesowen Abbey are just a stone.s throw distance from here. The St John.s Baptist Church, located around is worth a visit. The long smoothened highways are sure to attract you, if you are on self-drive car hire.

Drop in to the Shenstone Theatre in January, to watch some outstanding drama, musical shows and other performing arts shows. Two dramatic societies are found over here, and they only host the stage shows at Halesowen. They are named as Startime Variety and the Mayham Theatre Company. To spend some time in listening quality concerts, check out the Halesowen Jazz Club, on Sundays. You can also drop in to the rehearsals of the Scout band, or catch them live at the concerts. And if you are a cricket fanatic, this town has a great Cricket Club worth visiting.
