What do I need to do when picking up a car?

To pick up your car, you will need your voucher, passport, driver's license and a credit card. It is very important that your driver's license and credit card are in the same name as the main driver. Keep in mind that the local rental company will reserve a certain amount on your credit card as a deposit. This requires the PIN code for your credit card. If your driver's license is foreign (for example, in Chinese), you must bring a translation with you. Only your original passport and driver's license will be accepted - a copy is not sufficient.

Are there any additional costs?

In general, our rates are all-inclusive. Should there be any additional costs, our booking department will get in touch with you before issuing the invoice. Should you object, you can always cancel your reservation with no obligations attached (at least 48 hours in advance).

What kind of insurance is applicable to my car rental?

In general, Liability Insurance, Fire Insurance, All-Risks Insurance and Theft Insurance are included in the cost of your rental car.

Dont have any real comments about car rentrals but anything that can be done to make renting a car easier would be great but all the rental companies are so difficult to deal with. A question - why after filling in all my details does every rental company seem to have to spend half an hour typing everything and could we just have one insurance policy that we could trust.

Aarau is a typical, pretty Swiss town in the north of Switzerland and within reach of Zurich. It has a German flavour, being located just south of the border, and is good for car rental in Aarau as there is a lot to see in the region.

The town is the German-speaking capital of Aarau canton and is well-known for its fine restaurants. It also comes with an abundance of excellent hotels that will appeal to moneyed visitors, while cheap car hire in Aarau will allow you to explore the city and the nearby Black Forest.

One of the main attractions in Aarau itself is the large central park, which is good for all sorts of activities, while several cafés do a range of delicious chocolates that are produced here.

With car rental in Aarau you can head out of town and take in some excellent hiking, biking and sailing opportunities. You can also head to the border town of Basel, which is only around 50kms to the northwest. It straddles the Swiss, German, and French borders and has many fine attractions, including museums, galleries and outstanding gardens.

There are 1,200kms of so-called Wanderweg trails in this area, for those into walking, while the expansive Black Forest region is just to the northeast and also comes with lots of walking and sightseeing.
