What do I need to do when picking up a car?

To pick up your car, you will need your voucher, passport, driver's license and a credit card. It is very important that your driver's license and credit card are in the same name as the main driver. Keep in mind that the local rental company will reserve a certain amount on your credit card as a deposit. This requires the PIN code for your credit card. If your driver's license is foreign (for example, in Chinese), you must bring a translation with you. Only your original passport and driver's license will be accepted - a copy is not sufficient.

Are there any additional costs?

In general, our rates are all-inclusive. Should there be any additional costs, our booking department will get in touch with you before issuing the invoice. Should you object, you can always cancel your reservation with no obligations attached (at least 48 hours in advance).

Just six kilometres or so out of town, Leon Airport serves the northwest Spanish city of Leon and has cheap car hire at Leon Airport. Flights come in daily from Madrid and Barcelona with mainly local carriers, as well as with Ryanair, and it is easy enough to get to the city centre via the N-120.

The huge Gothic cathedral and the many churches are among the highlights of a visit to Leon. The religious houses in particular are beautifully done, including the Church of San Marcelo with its fabulous stained glass windows.

Another major city attraction in Leon with car hire in Leon Airport is the San Isidoro basilica, which is better known as the Sistine Chapel of Spain'. It sits within the ancient walls of the town and is a stunning parador (traditional top-end Spanish hotel) where tourists can be pampered.

Leon is also surrounded by stunning countryside and you can easily visit the Roman gold mines of Las Medulas, or take to any number of hiking trails in the region. Those really into the outdoors should head for the renowned Picos de Europa National Park, which is about 100kms to the northeast of town with car rental in Leon.

You can also check out nearby towns like Ponferrada, with its ancient castle, while due north of Leon with cheap car hire at Leon Airport are the beaches of the Bay of Biscay and the fun towns of Gijon and Santander. This hot region is in stark contrast to the cool mountains nearby.
