Adeje Guide

Guide

Located on the island of Tenerife, Adeje draws visitors for its stunning views and impressive hiking trails up the Barranco del Infierno, a beautiful gorge located inland on the north side of the island. The 12,200-foot Mount Teide towers on the horizon and provides a dramatic background to the quaint town. You can relax and truly take in the panoramic view as you enjoy a delightful meal from the terrace of the Otello restaurant.

Adeje's town centre is a pretty setting scattered with historical buildings such as the Casa Fuerte and the 16th century Iglesia de Santa Ursula. The Santa Ursula houses a copy of the famous Virgin of Candelaria and is open to the public. Relax in the sun and stroll the black volcanic sands then cool down or windsurf in the Siam Park water park.

The four hour return hike along the lush but steep Barranco del Infierno challenges hikers with its steep views looking down the valleys and through the eucalyptus forest. At the farthest end of the trail you will find a small 80-meter waterfall and the dramatic upper reaches of the gorge. Not up for the hike? Enjoy a relaxing ride in a Gondola to the top of the mountain and enjoy the stunning sights in comfort.

Visitors have a wide selection of hotels in Adeje to accommodate any budget and need. Restaurants offer fresh fish and quaint settings. For those looking for an active nightlife, you will find what you are looking for in nearby Playa de las Americas, just a few miles away.

Adeje is the perfect setting for a holiday with something for everyone. Shopping, water parks, sandy beaches and stunning views will make everyone in your group happy.
