Jubail is located on the east coast of Saudi Arabia. This Persian Gulf coastal city is split between it's old town, a coastal fishing village, and the newer, industrial district. The city became a hub for industry after 1975, and currently houses the largest desalination plant in the world, which provides half of Saudi Arabia's drinking water.

The city is known mostly for industry, although there is one international hotel chain in the downtown area. The Al-Jubail InterContinental Hotel is available for visiting travellers, and a proposed Holiday Inn is scheduled for opening in 2011. Scattered throughout the city are other, smaller guest houses and inns which can be secured at a reasonable price.

Currently, there is no railway system connecting the city to other regions in Saudi Arabia, however, one is planned and under construction. Currently the city is connected to other major cities via the Abu Hadriyah and Dhahran-Jubail highway systems. Car hire in Jubail is essentially to transportation as city bus and train systems are virtually non existent.

With car rental in Jubail, visitors may wish to tour the surrounding coastline of the Persian Gulf. From Jubail, driving up and down the coastline is a great way to see the sites of Saudi Arabia and some of it's smaller, coastal villages which are a good example of local life and culture.

Jubail is serviced by the King Fahd International Airport which is 50kms from the city itself. Cheap car hire in Jubail is a good way to get to the airport for flights out, and since, local taxis can sometimes be unreliable, a good way to insure arrival at the airport in a timely manner. Mostly rented cars from Jubail can be returned to counters at the airport for convenience.

What do I need to do when picking up a car?

To pick up your car, you will need your voucher, passport, driver's license and a credit card. It is very important that your driver's license and credit card are in the same name as the main driver. Keep in mind that the local rental company will reserve a certain amount on your credit card as a deposit. This requires the PIN code for your credit card. If your driver's license is foreign (for example, in Chinese), you must bring a translation with you. Only your original passport and driver's license will be accepted - a copy is not sufficient.

Are there any additional costs?

In general, our rates are all-inclusive. Should there be any additional costs, our booking department will get in touch with you before issuing the invoice. Should you object, you can always cancel your reservation with no obligations attached (at least 48 hours in advance).
