Salalah Airport, located just over 5km northeast of Salalah's city centre, is the smaller of the Sultanate of Oman's two airports. This small terminal is currently undergoing the expansion and modernisation required for this city which is growing in popularity for both business and leisure travel. In recent years, its breathtaking coastline has made it popular with birdwatchers, sunbathers and scuba divers.
While the airport is mainly used for domestic flights, several international flights call into this destination during the Khareef (monsoon) season. Airlines calling into Salalah include: Air India Express, Gulf Air, Jazeera Airways, Oman Air and Saudi Arabian Airlines.
Despite its small size, the airport caters well for passengers using the air terminal. A number of small shops are located here as well as bus and taxi facilities. Car hire is available from the airport counter during flight arrival and departure times only. Selecting car hire from here will provide you with the independent mobility that is needed to get the most out of your trip to Oman.
