Haarem is a city that is located in the North Holland province of the Netherlands. Visit the Archaeology Museum which has a lot of exhibits that relate to Haarlem's culture and history. This is the first museum built in the Netherlands that is totally dedicated to archaeology. It gives its visitors information about archaeological digs around the area. Plus, it gives more generalized exhibitions on archaeology techniques, and one of the exhibits charts events that have happened over the last 4 millenniums and the items found at the excavation sites.

Make sure you see the De Adriaan Windmill, which is a very popular site in Haarlem. The wooden windmill was constructed in 1778 on an old defensive tower foundation. In a 1932 fire, the windmill was almost completely destroyed. The residents, however, got together to rebuild it. Now, the mill is still in operation today, but only on Saturdays if the weather is good for it.

Take a trip to the Haarlem Historical Museum. Here you will get to see a great overview of the town's history and the surrounding area. There is an audio-visual performance, which is very popular, where Laurens Jansz-Coster retells Haarlem's story. He highlights the siege of Haarlem that occurred in 1572, a few years after that when there was a great fire, the almshouses construction, and the train journey from Amsterdam to Haarlem in 1839, which was the first.

To pick up your car, you will need your voucher, passport, driver's license and a credit card. It is very important that your driver's license and credit card are in the same name as the main driver. Keep in mind that the local rental company will reserve a certain amount on your credit card as a deposit. This requires the PIN code for your credit card. If your driver's license is foreign (for example, in Chinese), you must bring a translation with you. Only your original passport and driver's license will be accepted - a copy is not sufficient.
