Apeldoorn is a great place to visit in the Netherlands to see some things that you can't see just anywhere. One of these places is the Apenheul Monkey Reserve. This is a very high quality nature reserve that gives animals good conditions to live in without taking away their freedom. In the reserve you will find many gorillas, which are located on wooded islands of their own. They are kept separate from the other animals in the reserve, including capybara, deer, otters and, of course, other monkeys. You will want to visit this place in the morning, which is the best time, because the animals are more lively when the temperature is cooler.

Another place that you will want to visit is the Het Loo Palace. This is a palace and estate that was used as a home during the summer for generations of Dutch royalty from 1685, when it was constructed, to 1975. In 1984, it was made into a museum, and it now has a collection of ceramics, glassware, silver, tapestries, furniture, and paintings which all celebrate the history behind the House of Orange. The gardens of the palace have been restored so that they look like the original designs of the 17th century.

There is also the Royal Stable, which is part of the Het Loo Palace and dates back to 1906. You will see a collection of carriages and vintage cars, which include a 1925 royal Bentley and a baby carriage that was made to protect a baby in case there was a gas attack.
