Cork Airport Guide

Guide

Cork Airport is situated 10 minutes outside of Cork city, a short 5-mile drive along the Kinsale road. It serves as a direct link to the beautiful and diverse landscape of southern Ireland. Connections to mainland Europe, the UK and domestic flights to Dublin are available. Chartered flights serve destinations in the Mediterranean and northern Africa, whilst scheduled transatlantic flights are also available.

Enter your destination, pick-up and drop-off dates in the search box provided above and reserve car hire at Cork Airport today. Cork Airport car hire depots include Avis, Budget, Hertz, Alamo, Enterprise, Sixt, Thrifty, 353 and Dan Dooley Car Rentals. These are located on the ground floor of the main terminal building. Booking your Cork Airport car rental with us will be your cheapest option as we compare the market finding you the best deals from all major UK car rental companies. It is far more expensive paying at the airports.

There is just one terminal in the airport, with check-ins located on the ground floor of the terminal.

At Cork the banking facilities are open from 07.30 to 17.30 hours. The bureau de change facility operates from hours 06.45 - 20.00, Mon-Fri. Outside of these hours you may use a currency exchange machine located on the ground floor. ATM machines located on the ground floor will dispense both Sterling and Euro.

A Post box is located beside the Informatioxn Desk in the Main Terminal. To purchase postage stamps, refer to the Skyshop located on the ground floor of the Terminal building.

Good Restaurants and Public areas are provided. Café Kylemore is located on the first floor. The Café is open from 0500 to 2030 and caters for all tastes from sandwiches to a full a la carte menu. The Wild Geese Bar/Lounge is also situated on the first floor behind the restaurant. It is large and spacious yet very intimate. It is open from first arrival to last departure.

Disabled passengers are well provided for and a "take to plane" service is available when required.

There is much to do and see in Cork and it's neighbouring towns and cities so by purchasing cheap car hire from Cork Airport you will be able to visit many areas in this part of Ireland. Having a rental car during your time in Cork will definitely give you the freedom to venture around and see a lot more than you would via public transport.

To & From

By car, Cork Airport is easily reached by following the Main N71 Route, 5 Miles from the City Centre and is well signposted on all major routes. Waterford, Tipperary and Kilkenny are within easy reach via the new Lee Tunnel.

A frequent bus service operates from the airport to the city centre. A daily service is available to and from Cork City Centre with regular departures every 45 minutes.

Iarnrod Eireann's regular Inter-City Train Service to and from Cork has a frequent bus connection from its Railway Station to Cork Airport. Train services operate downtown from Kent Station, and serve destinations all over Ireland.

As for shuttle buses, most major hotels will arrange for you to be collected and quality tour operators will have someone meet you or your group at the airport.

There is also a taxi rank located just outside the main terminal. The cost is approximately 10 Euro from the airport to the city centre with journeys taking around 15 minutes on average. A Hackney Service (Private Hire) also operates from the airport; rates of hire are displayed at the desk.

Short-term and long-term parking is available within the airport, with over 2,800 spaces available in total. Special rates are available for frequent users of car parking facilities. The car parks operate 24/7. Car key holding facilities are available from the Car Park Services Desk in the Terminal building.
