Explore Rosslare

There is a wide variety of fine hotels, guesthouses and B&B's in Rosslare Harbour, as well as friendly people to welcome you. Rosslare Harbour also boasts a number of quality restaurants, pubs and shops.

Only five kilometres north of the harbour is Rosslare town, situated along the curve of the bay. Rosslare is County Wexford’s original holiday resort, and its pristine beaches and excellent water amenities always make it popular with visitors.

Exploring the picturesque countryside around Rosslare Harbour will take you through charming towns and villages, lovely parks and some of the prettiest scenery in Ireland. Visit the lovely fishing village of Kilmore Quay, the Viking town of Wexford or the Irish National Heritage Park set on 30 acres of land, where you can trace 9000 years of Irish history and culture.

Transport

Bus Eireann coaches, and the ferry terminal, service Rosslare Harbour. Buses operate to Wexford and beyond. Ireland's roads are simple to drive, with beautiful winding country roads, and limited multi-laned highways, making car hire an attractive option for getting around.

Dublin International Airport is located to the north of the capital and is only 2 hours, 30 minutes away from Rosslare by car. Aircoach runs a service from the centre and south of Dublin to the airport, 24 hours a day every day. Tickets can be purchased from the bus driver and cost approximately €6 one-way or €10 return.

If you’re driving from Dublin, take the N7 and M7 motorways heading west and exit left on to the M9 after approximately 40kms. Follow the M9 on to the N9 main road, and then turn left at Kilgowan to link up with the N81 north of Baltinglass. Carry on south along this road, then on to the N80, N11, and N25, which runs to the harbour and the town centre.

Irish Rail provides a daily train service to Wexford and Rosslare from Dublin, pulling in at the Rosslare Strand in the town centre and at Rosslare harbour.

Bus Eireann operates to Rosslare from Dublin Airport twice daily, via Wexford. The earlier bus (13:35 departure) only goes as far as Wexford, connecting with the later bus and going on to Rosslare at 18:20. Rather than wait, take the local bus or train the rest of the way. The later bus leaves Dublin Airport at 15:00 and arrives in Rosslare at 18:20.

Stenalines operates two return car ferry crossings daily to Rosslare from Fishguard in Wales (3 hours, 30 minutes), on the Konigen Beatrix super ferry. The high-speed Stena Lynx III car ferry also departs on a roundtrip journey twice daily (1 hour, 50 minutes).

Pembroke Irish Ferries’ cruise ferry offers two daily crossings (3 hours, 45 minutes). The company also provides services from Le Havre and Cherbourg, France.

It is very important that your driver's license and credit card are in the same name as the main driver. Should you object, you can always cancel your reservation with no obligations attached (at least 48 hours in advance). What kind of insurance is applicable to my car rental? Availability of cars satisfying these four requirements will speed up the selection of a suitable vehicle for you. How can I change or cancel my reservation?
