Kalymmos - Pothia Guide

Pothial sits to the south of the Greek island of Kalymnos and is a busy port town with many destinations including Rhodes, Kos and other Greek islands easily reached by ferry. If arriving by sea, cheap car hire in Kalymmos - Pothial can be reserved for onwards travel.

The town is fairly close to neighbouring Vylchadia and Vathys which are a short drive away and car hire in Kalymmos - Pothia can easily be arranged for day trips to the surrounding area. The roads can be quite narrow and a small compact car rental in Kalymmos - Pothial is advisable.

Although the island has sandy beaches, it is also very mountainous inland which makes the town of Pothial an excellent base from which to arrange excursions for those that like a little bit of adventure.

Pothial is the capital of the island and has a national airport that serves Athens and it is through here that international flights can connect for onward journeys. The airport is fairly close to the town and although car hire at Kalymmos - Pothial can be arranged the journey time is around 20 minutes.

To pick up your car, you will need your voucher, passport, driver's license and a credit card. It is very important that your driver's license and credit card are in the same name as the main driver. Keep in mind that the local rental company will reserve a certain amount on your credit card as a deposit. This requires the PIN code for your credit card. If your driver's license is foreign (for example, in Chinese), you must bring a translation with you. Only your original passport and driver's license will be accepted - a copy is not sufficient.

 Are there any additional costs?

In general, our rates are all-inclusive. Should there be any additional costs, our booking department will get in touch with you before issuing the invoice. Should you object, you can always cancel your reservation with no obligations attached (at least 48 hours in advance).

What kind of insurance is applicable to my car rental?

In general, Liability Insurance, Fire Insurance, All-Risks Insurance and Theft Insurance are included in the cost of your rental car.
