Gouvia is a small town and a popular holiday destination on the Greek island of Corfu. The town sits on the Ionian coast to the north of the Corfu capital which is Corfu Town.

Nearby towns include Ypsos located further north along the coast, and the popular and lively resorts of Leftkimmi and Kavos along the south coast. Although Corfu is one of the larger Ionian Islands, arranging a hire car for the duration of your time in Gouvia is recommended, as you get to explore the island in your own time.

Corfu Airport is the main gateway to the island of Corfu, also known as 'Ioannis Kapodistrias International Airport', which is around a 10 minute drive from Corfu Town centre. There are no public buses running to the airport so we recommend that you arrange car hire.

What do I need to do when picking up a car?

To pick up your car, you will need your voucher, passport, driver's license and a credit card. It is very important that your driver's license and credit card are in the same name as the main driver. Keep in mind that the local rental company will reserve a certain amount on your credit card as a deposit. This requires the PIN code for your credit card. If your driver's license is foreign (for example, in Chinese), you must bring a translation with you. Only your original passport and driver's license will be accepted - a copy is not sufficient.

Are there any additional costs?
