What do I need to do when picking up a car?

To pick up your car, you will need your voucher, passport, driver's license and a credit card. It is very important that your driver's license and credit card are in the same name as the main driver. Keep in mind that the local rental company will reserve a certain amount on your credit card as a deposit. This requires the PIN code for your credit card. If your driver's license is foreign (for example, in Chinese), you must bring a translation with you. Only your original passport and driver's license will be accepted - a copy is not sufficient.

Are there any additional costs?

In general, our rates are all-inclusive. Should there be any additional costs, our booking department will get in touch with you before issuing the invoice. Should you object, you can always cancel your reservation with no obligations attached (at least 48 hours in advance).

What kind of insurance is applicable to my car rental?

The reason gave Carrentals an average is that we tried to call as instructed on the email to notify of late arrival. Held on for 20 minutes before call was answered to be told to call back when we knew exact time. Not great when you have to hold for 20 minutes. In fairness the guy did say he would call Budget to let them know. Also emailed and got a response the following day.

Alikanas is a small town on the Greek island of Zakynthos in the Ionian Sea. Recently, this small town has grown into a small tourist resort, and continues to attract more tourists every year.

The city is set inland a few miles, but the main attraction is a stretch of coastline on the western border of the island. A few resorts here offer a range of waterfront amenities including beach chairs, restaurants, bars and swimming pools. Water sports are widely available.

The resorts can be reached with a hire car via a minor road that travels west from the city centre. The road forks immediately, with the right prong heading to the waterfront and the left prong connecting to Gerakariou-Katastariou road. The latter connects the coast with Alonia and other inland cities.

Touring the countryside with cheap car hire in Alikanas gives visitors the freedom to explore according to their own itinerary. While the resorts have the crowning position on the beach, there are a few hideaways well worth visiting that are away from the commercial district. These can only be reached with car rental in Alikanas.

The nearest airport is around 15 miles to the east in the city of Zakynthos. In a car the drive takes less than 30 minutes. The main connecting route is Zakynthou-Agiou Dimitriou, but Gaitaniou-Gerakariou is also a viable option.
