Karlsruhe, a cultural, lively city situated along the bank of the River Rhine, centered between the Alsace, the Black Forest and Pfalz, is a city with many beautiful and fascinating museums. Car hire is a popular choice for travelling around Karlsruhe and can be booked in advance of travelling here. Fill in the search box above with your travel criteria, click search, and we'll do the rest.

Explore Karlsruhe

Besides the splendid museums and historical buildings there are many more must see sights such as the magnificent Baroque Palace, which was modelled after Versailles and has a beautiful botanical garden in its grounds. The Markplatz, with its charming town hall, church and striking pyramid is also worth visiting, as well as Turmberg (City Mountain) which can be reached via Germany’s oldest funicular railway.

A walking tour of the city’s renowned museums should begin at the ZKM Art and Media Technology Centre. This unique museum combines art with new media and involves visitors directly in the art experience - for example, they can act as the director of a virtual play or the creator of artificial plant worlds. Continue to the Stadtmuseum, which documents the city’s history, and then head to the Staatliche Kunsthalle & Orangerie, which houses a collection by 14th to 20th century German, French and Dutch masters.

The old town is where you should head if you want to sample the regional food specialties, or indulge in wines from the Rhine or Germany’s famous beer. Shopping either focuses on clothing, wine or artistic prints of the many masterpieces on display in the museums.

Trips from Karlsruhe include destinations such as: Strasbourg with its cathedral and romantic old town; Baden-Baden with its casino and thermal baths; and the UNESCO World Heritage listed city of Speyer. Additionally, the the area of the Black Forest is filled with quaint fairytale houses, relaxing day and night spas and popular ski resorts.

What do I need to do when picking up a car? To pick up your car, you will need your voucher, passport, driver's license and a credit card. It is very important that your driver's license and credit card are in the same name as the main driver. Should you object, you can always cancel your reservation with no obligations attached (at least 48 hours in advance). What kind of insurance is applicable to my car rental? Availability of cars satisfying these four requirements will speed up the selection of a suitable vehicle for you. How can I change or cancel my reservation?
