The Bahnhofstrasse, is a pedestrianised street which passes into the center of the city from Central Station, great for shopping and eating out.

Left of the Steintor is the amazing Anzeiger Hochhaus, and around the corner lies the Altstadt (old city) with lovely petite shops, bars and restaurants.

The most stupendous church is the Marktkirche, which stands next to the beautiful old town hall. The nearby Market Hall offers a range of international delicacies.

The Niedersachsen Landesmuseum exhibits paintings and some sculpture pieces across 9 centuries, as well as intriguing natural history, archaeological, and ethnological exhibits.

Ancient Egyptian, Roman and Greek art can be seen in the Kestner Museum, which also holds an impressive collection of Art Deco across Europe.

The baroque garden and park ensemble of Herrenhausen are both fairly large gardens in Germany, and even though the palace has disappeared it's still a spectacular sight.

Hannover experiences a busy nightlife scene, with a large number of traditional bars, trendy discos and ‘biergartens’, where you can have a beer in a pleasant garden setting.

Exploring Hannover by car, you can visit the King Ernst August Monument, Marienburg, Georgstrasse, the Kestner Gesellschaft and Hannover’s Zoo.
