Fellbach is a small to mid size town located in the south west corner of Germany, and boasts a population of 45,000. It was not declared a city officially until 1933 despite the documentation of a substantial population in the mid twelfth century. During World War II, the town became a hub for soldiers to hide out because it was not part of the obvious path. Despite the relatively small size, Fellbach has three main districts; Fellbach, Schmiden, and Oeffingen.

The Christmas season is big business in Fellbach, and residents and visitors celebrate from mid November to the first of January. The Christmas market is well known, and serves as the center of the celebration with many different vendors, entertainers, food, activities, and just about anything to do with the holiday season. This is not the only celebration in Fellbach, although it is the most famous. Year round events include art exhibitions, gallery showings, and stage shows for adults and children.

The general climate of Fellbach is one of community, and a large percentage of the population is active in politics and policy making for the town. When municiple meetings are held, the town square is full of residents who want to be heard and to make a difference. There is also a very active youth council in Fellbach, which is why so many adults remain active years after they initially become involved. This environment also is attractive to business owners and entrepreneurs since they have a say in how the town is run, and issues such as taxes, zoning, and infrastructure.

Travel is relatively easy by car, unless there is a large event in progress, but parking on the street is available. The mass transit system is good, especially when traveling long distances, and walking is a favorite pastime of residents. The weather accommodates too since the average temperature is around 50 degrees with a moderate amount of rainfall. Fellbach is all around a nice place to visit and live, and you will feel a part of the action when you visit.
