The airport at Saint Tropez is located fifteen kilometers to the southwest of the city. The town of Saint Tropez, with its 5,600 residents, is located on the Mediterranean coastline in the south of France, is also referred to as the French Riviera. It is known primarily for catering to famous and wealthy guests and is called the Marbella of France. The arts, beaches, climate, history and yachting all contribute to tourism being the city's major industry. The sport of yachting enjoys its annual regatta every October and attracts competitors with yachts up to fifty meters in length.
