What do I need to do when picking up a car?

To pick up your car, you will need your voucher, passport, driver's license and a credit card. It is very important that your driver's license and credit card are in the same name as the main driver. Keep in mind that the local rental company will reserve a certain amount on your credit card as a deposit. This requires the PIN code for your credit card. If your driver's license is foreign (for example, in Chinese), you must bring a translation with you. Only your original passport and driver's license will be accepted - a copy is not sufficient.

Are there any additional costs?

I found booking through Carrentals

I found booking through Carrentals very easy and straightforward. My only suggestion for an improvement would be to somehow enable the online check in to work better. I was sent an email asking me to check in with Hertz online however when I tried to use this service the form had an incorrect email address and phone number (presumably for Carrentals) which I was unable to edit on the form.

The quaint French town of Nemours is located in the north of France in the Ile de France region. The pretty River Loing runs through the town and the area is surrounded by Nemours Forest. It is a pleasant place to spend a few days and there are many hotels and guesthouses to choose from. Car rental in Nemours is recommended.

In the town, there is the impressive castle with its four round towers that was built around the beginning of the 12th century and now holds a museum. Another interesting museum is the Prehistoric Museum. The St Jean the Baptist Church build during the 16th century is a lovely example of architecture.

Close to the town is a large forest which has cycling and hiking trails and many picnic areas. The town is situated close to the main A6 highway, L'Autoroute du Soleil which runs from Normandy to Lyons and is easily accessible with car hire in Nemours.

With cheap car hire in Nemours, the beautiful town of Fontainebleau with its impressive palace is just a 20 minute drive from Nemours along the D607 Route National. Close to Nemours are many pretty villages, some dating back to the Middle Ages.
