In the northwestern part of the Croatian island of Krk you'll find the picturesque Malinska. Malinska, a major tourist destination, is a small town situated along the coast of the Adriatic Sea. Located on a bay, Malinska faces the towns of Opatija and Rijeka. Only 15 minutes from Rijeka airport, visitors can drive to Malinska via the Krcki Bridge. The town is only 13 kilometers from the city of Krk. Nearly 3000 people live in Malinska.

Malinska is center of a region called Dubasnica which contains 19 small villages. First mention of Malinska came in the 15th century when the town's first mill was built. This mill was the source of Malinska's name as the Croatian word for mill is Mlin.
