What do I need to do when picking up a car?

To pick up your car, you will need your voucher, passport, driver's license and a credit card. It is very important that your driver's license and credit card are in the same name as the main driver. Keep in mind that the local rental company will reserve a certain amount on your credit card as a deposit. This requires the PIN code for your credit card. If your driver's license is foreign (for example, in Chinese), you must bring a translation with you. Only your original passport and driver's license will be accepted - a copy is not sufficient.

Bulgaria is a very nice country and it is known for possessing a very long history and a very moderate climate. Small towns like samokov are known to be the best choice for people looking for nice view and a calm weather.

Samokov is located at the base of the mountain Rila, the highest mountain in Bulgaria. Although the town is located at the base of the mountain but it is at a 1000 meter above the sea level. This location guarantees the calm and quite weather. Also the town is located at the bank of the Iskar River.

All of these factors form a beautiful undisturbed scene of serenity. And when you visit the village of samokov you will not only enjoy that beautiful nature but you will have a chance to visit a town with a long history that reaches back to the 15 or the 16 century, Where the iron mining was the main activity of that region.

The architecture of the town is also a beauty on its own, the old Virgin Mary church is a must see monument when you visit samokov. The town museum narrates the whole story of the town from being an ore mining center till developing into its current status.

Transportation is only by bus or by private minivans. Visiting a car hire company would be a great idea if you want to explore the neighborhood.
