Geel is a Belgian city that was just recently recognized as such. Though it's been a municipality for centuries, only recently did it grow large enough to be called a city. The city is comprised of 4 sections, each very old, and has a total population of just over 35,000 residents. The city is host to a number of beautiful attractions, and is a popular destination for medical treatment, as it's known around the world as a shining model for psychiatric care.

The city is full of lovely cafes and restaurants, and the market square is surrounded by cafes of all shapes and sizes. Because the oldest part of the city hall is nearly 400 years old, it is popular with archaeologists and historians of all types.

Geel is located directly on the river Nete, and offers broad swaths of forest land and wilderness, and the Antwerp Zoo has a small nature reserve just outside of town. Saint Alexis college is a popular school, and is visited by scholars and dignitaries from all over Europe.
