Explore Adelaide

Adelaide is situated on both sides of the Torrens River, with the city centre on one side and the north of Adelaide on the other. The Mount Lofty Ranges, which are visible in the distance are great for exploring. There's also a large parkland area surrounding the city, which is great for enjoying a stroll or relaxing with a picnic.

One of the world’s greatest drives is the Great Ocean Road -- heading to Melbourne along Victoria’s southern coastline. En route it’s possible to detour via the Grampian Mountains, a fine example of the great Aussie bush.

Heading south from Adelaide, Kangaroo island is popular. It is unspoilt, teeming with wildlife, and has some lovely scenery. South Australia is also famous for its vineyards, with plenty of excellent wine-tasting opportunities open to the public among the private estates of McLaren vale and the Barossa valley.

Rundle Mall is the city’s main shopping centre, with well known department stores. The eastern end of Rundle St. has some of the city centre's best restaurants fashion shops. Transport

The streets of Adelaide are in a grid like array, so tourists will be able to find their way around far easier than some cities. In the middle is Victoria Square, and running through is the main street King William.

To pick up your car, you will need your voucher, passport, driver's license and a credit card. It is very important that your driver's license and credit card are in the same name as the main driver. Keep in mind that the local rental company will reserve a certain amount on your credit card as a deposit. This requires the PIN code for your credit card. If your driver's license is foreign (for example, in Chinese), you must bring a translation with you. Only your original passport and driver's license will be accepted - a copy is not sufficient.
