The city of Chingola is famous for mining. It is situated in Zambia's copper-mining region, the Copperbelt Province. Chingola is also the site of the Nchanga Open Pit Mine, which is considered the second biggest open cast mine. The city has a small population of over 100,000 residents and getting around here is easy.

Chingola was once known as the cleanest city in Zambia. The city itself was born only after the Nchanga Open Pit Mine was opened in 1943. This mine is situated covering 11 kilometers of the city's western portion. The open pit mine is easily accessible with a car rental at Chingola.
