Explore Marmaris

Marmaris is surrounded by beautiful pine-covered mountains creating an impressively beautiful setting behind its numerous bays, coves and sound along the Datça Peninsula. The peninsula separates the land between the Mediterranean and Aegean Sea, and is reachable by driving down rough, winding roads through the mountains. Many tourists catch the ferry from Bodrum to visit the Peninsula, and its unspoilt rugged, peaceful surroundings.

Opt for car hire in Marmaris and travel north towards Mugla, to a small village Gokova. Here you will come across beautiful little wooden houses, Ottoman style, and is definitely worth a visit.

For a more scenic drive the road heading southwest towards Selimiye is perfect for fishing, wine tasting, and incredible sunsets. Relax during the day on Siliman Beach and then watch the sun go down. Travel south from Hisaronu to Turgut village which offers beautiful waterfalls nearby. The village also has the Carpet Weavers Corporation which is worth a visit if you're interested. The restaurants here create a tasty gozleme, which is a spinach and cheese filled crêpe, and wash it down with an ayran, a Turkish alcoholic beverage.

The stunning coves of Palmut Bükü, Domuzcukuru, Mesudiye, Akvaryum, and Kargi boast some of the cleanest water in the Mediterranean, ideal ingredients for a temperate holiday discovering Turkey’s pristine nooks and crannies.
