An area of five-star hotels along Turkey’s stunning Mediterranean coast, Belek Kempinski is among the country’s most magnificent strips of beach. Belek itself is home to some of the country’s best golf courses, top entertainment facilities and other tourism services, and attracts around 30 million visitors per year. The resort town has a stunning backdrop of forested hills that is home to waterfalls, caves and beautiful scenery, while the magnificent ancient city of Aspendos is just to the northeast of Belek Kempinski. The beach and town itself are easy enough to explore on foot though a car rental can provide visitors with a way to get around the entire region and visit other beaches along the Mediterranean coast.

Leading car hire firms, including Argus and Auto Europe, have depots in Belek Kempinski, along with local suppliers Erka and Okudan. There is also a great selection of rental depots in Belek town. In the summer months, rental rates tend to increase and popular models sell out quickly so advance booking is recommended.
Best Time to Go
Though pegged a summer holiday destination Belek Kempinski can actually be visited year round. Still, the summer months of June, July and August are the busiest months here, as well as the hottest and most expensive times to visit. Much like in the UK, winters here are wet though the temperature is much more pleasant than in the UK, averaging around 10°C. To avoid the rain, the heat and the high prices of summer, plan to visit in April, May or October.

Driving
The population in and around Belek Kempinski multiplies by more than 10 in the summer months, meaning traffic greatly increases. This is especially true when travelling between the beach and Belek town centre. Still, a car is the best way to travel around the town as well as explore other parts of the region, with the D400 linking it west to Antalya and east to Manavgat. All resorts in Belek Kempinski provide parking for their guests and parking is available right at the beach.

There are few transportation options in Belek Kempinski and the rest of the Belek region. Nearly all visitors drive themselves into the town centre and to attractions in the area. The other option for exploring is by taxi, which can be expensive. Some visitors get around on foot though distances to areas outside of Belek Kempinski’s vicinity are great.
Trains
There is no train service at Belek Kempinski. The closest railway station is in Mersin, which is nearly 285 miles away.
Buses
There are no buses directly in Belek Kempinski, nor are there buses that connect the resort area with the town centre. There are shuttle buses that connect Belek to other cities and towns nearby, however. The bus journey from the town centre to Antalya costs around £2.
Taxis
Taxis run on metres, with the price doubling between midnight and 06:00. Although taxis are required to have a metre, not all drivers use them when driving tourists. Be sure to negotiate a price before setting off or insist that the metre is turned on.
Belek Kempinski is situated in the middle of the Pamphylia region’s Mediterranean coastline, making it an ideal place to use as a base for touring the area. Roman ruins, ancient cities, bustling markets and waterfalls all make for excellent daytrips, or you can head to Antalya for the day and wander around its old quarter. Relax on pristine beaches or go yachting or shopping in upscale boutiquesâthe possibility for daytrips here are endless.
Aspendos – The ancient city of Aspendos is one of the region’s most visited sites after its beaches. It lies around 16 miles northeast of Belek Kempinski. The city is said to have been founded by the Greeks in around 1000 BC and it became the most important city in the Pamphylia region in the 5th century. Roman structures here include the 96 metre diameter theatre, an agora, a nymphaeum and an aqueduct that is over nine miles long.
Perga – Another site of ancient ruins, Perga can be found less than 17 miles northwest of Belek Kempinski and is known for its Temple of Artemis and for being the birthplace of mathematician Apollonius of Perga, of which it gets its name. There are a number of impressive sights here, such as a theatre, Roman baths, a nymphaeum and monumental city gates.
Köprülü Canyon – A canyon and national park to the east of Belek Kempinski, towards Side, Köprülü Canyon is a stunning place to spend a day away from the beaches. The drive here is just as scenic as the park itself, passing over a flowing river, through the mountains and in virgin forests.
