Port Alfred is at the centre of the Sunshine Coast in South Africa. It is one of the most popular destinations in the country because of its long sandy coastline. The atmosphere is laid-back, in part because this is the kind of place visitors are likely to put down roots.

Port Alfred is about halfway between Port Elizabeth and New London along R72. It perches at the mouth of the Kowie River, a popular venue for picnics and outdoor activities. If your driver's license is foreign (for example, in Chinese), you must bring a translation with you. Only your original passport and driver's license will be accepted - a copy is not sufficient.
