I phoned to change the

I phoned to change the time for pick up and return of the car. It was not a good experience. I was told I could not do it and encouraged to book an up grade. I wanted to change my booking and return by 4 hours from 10.00am to 2.oo pm. I was told it was not possible to change it. I was told a car would not be available. I said I would take the risk and ended up in cancelling my booking and then re booking on line. Not helpful. I almost did not use your site to re book.

We booked a Yaris or

We booked a Yaris or similar, but on arrival were allocated a larger Hyundai Accent which was too large for my wife to drive. ECCR at Hobart apparently have very few Yaris-sized cars. Fortunately we were going to be passing nearby a few days later so were able to substitute the Accent for a smaller Kia Rio for the rest of our trip, but Carrentals need to check more carefully what sort of cars are actually available - size does matter, and a bigger car than you've booked isn't necessarily acceptable to all customers.

Car hire is essential in this mountainous area of Papua New Guinea. Outside of Port Moresby, there is very little public transportation and little or no chance of a taxi. While driving in the area can be challenging, having a decent map and a reliable guide book will help.

In your car hire, you can visit small villages, such as Kavoemg and New Hanover, which lie to the west of Kavieng. This area is well-known for its fantastic diving spots - many of which are a short drive west in your car hire. A wide variety of sea experiences can be had in this scenic location, from swimming with dolphins to exploring ship wrecks.

Kavieng is steeped in tradition that can be experienced by visitors. This area was home to the ancient Malagan tribe and shark callers of Kontu. While visiting Kavieng's marketplaces in your car hire, you can purchase highly ornate Malagan tribal masks.

The island has a rich history. While the area was first discovered by the Dutch in the early16th century, it was not until the late 19th century until the first missionaries came. In the years that followed, it was a German colony and during WWII, New Ireland was occupied by Japanese forces before being recaptured by the Australian and US forces.

What do I need to do when picking up a car?

To pick up your car, you will need your voucher, passport, driver's license and a credit card. It is very important that your driver's license and credit card are in the same name as the main driver. Keep in mind that the local rental company will reserve a certain amount on your credit card as a deposit. This requires the PIN code for your credit card. If your driver's license is foreign (for example, in Chinese), you must bring a translation with you. Only your original passport and driver's license will be accepted - a copy is not sufficient.

Are there any additional costs?

In general, our rates are all-inclusive. Should there be any additional costs, our booking department will get in touch with you before issuing the invoice. Should you object, you can always cancel your reservation with no obligations attached (at least 48 hours in advance).

What kind of insurance is applicable to my car rental?

In general, Liability Insurance, Fire Insurance, All-Risks Insurance and Theft Insurance are included in the cost of your rental car.

What is a worry-free label?
