Driving

Piazzale Roma is a square at the island end of Via Liberta. There are a number of car parks around the square where drivers can leave their vans before walking to the historic centre. The mainland from Mestre onwards has good roads with plentiful signposts. The only hazard is the occasional Italian motorist with a death-wish. The permitted blood-alcohol limit when driving is 0.05. per cent Drivers need to keep to the right side of the road in Italy.
