Driving
For drivers with experience of driving in Western Europe, motoring in Italy should be familiar. Here, you’ll drive on the right side of the road. Be cautious of the high numbers of motorbikes in cities. All passengers and the driver are required to wear seatbelts at all times. Those travelling north of Verona must be prepared for hazardous conditions from October through late spring. Do not block the fast lanes on motorways. Speed limits and parking violations are strictly enforced.

Transport

Getting away from Verona Airport is easy and enjoyable with car hire, which is particularly suited to those that would like a proper glimpse of Veneto on the whole. Shuttle buses are also available and fairly economical, while taxis provide more convenience at a substantially higher price.

Trains
There is no direct rail link from Verona Airport. Passengers can transfer to Verona Porta Nuova railway station in the city centre every 20 minutes between 06:35 and 23:35. Taxis
Taxis are available from an official rank situated just outside the Arrivals area in Terminal 2. Service into town usually takes about 15 minutes. There are supplementary fees for luggage and extra passengers. Fares rise during night-time hours and on weekends and holidays.

Buses
ATV (Company for Public Transport of Verona) provides regular Aerobus service into the city centre from the airport from 06:35 to 23:35 daily. Buses depart every 20 minutes and terminate at Porta Nuova railway station. The one-way fare is £5, while monthly passes are available for around £40.

Facilities

Terminals
Verona Airport’s arrivals and departures facilities are located in separate buildings – Terminal 1 (departures) and Terminal 2 (arrivals). The terminals are situated adjacent to one another and walking between the two only takes a moment. Both terminals are accessible from the A22 or A4 motorways. Terminal 1 has two floors, with most passenger facilities located on the ground level, with the exception of the VIP lounges, which can be found upstairs.

Parking
Public parking is available for up to 4,800 vehicles at Verona Airport. Car parks P1 and P2 are premium facilities directly opposite Terminal 1; parking here costs £2.50 for one hour, £18 for a day and £94 a week. Alternatively, P1bis, P2bis, P3 and P4 offer somewhat cheaper rates for longer stays, at about £12 per day and £40 per week. Finally, the low-cost car park offers shuttle service to the terminal and costs about £4 per day and £30 per week.

Restaurants and Bars
Look for a decent array of full-service dining and fast food outlets in Terminal 1 (Departures) and a few small coffee shops and snack bars outside of the Baggage Claim area in Terminal 2. Opening times generally span from one hour prior to the first scheduled departure until one hour after the last flight of the day. Names available include Bricco Café, Pizzer Pan, the Frozen Yogurt Company, Zushi Japanese and RisaMore.

Money and ATMs
Passengers can find a bank branch near the entrance doors on the ground floor of Terminal 1. Opening hours are from 08:20 to 13:20 and 14:35 to 15:35 on weekdays and from 08:45 to 12:45 on Saturdays. There are also three ATMs in Terminal 1, two on the ground floor and one on the upper level near the Catullo VIP Lounge.

Shopping
Verona Airport offers a good range of duty-free goods for passengers leaving the EU – tax-free items can be purchased in the Departures lounge (beyond security) in Terminal 1. Additionally, more than a dozen other shopping outlets are available on both sides of Terminal 1, including Safebag, Goldenpoint, Wood Village, Watch Studio, Camicasso and Media World.
