Herzliya Guide

Herzlyia is a city in Israel with a population of about 100 000. It consists of two parts, the city itself and up affluent area called Herzlyia Pituach, located on the beach and home to many costly residences and hotels. Why not grab a car hire and pop down to the Marina, browse the shops and restaurants and glimpse what life can be like on the other side of the financial gap - perhaps you could rent a boat (and splurge on a captain to sail it for you) and finish your day of extravagance in one of the upbeat and fashionable bars in the industrial area, sipping on fancy cocktails and dancing to the great music, sometimes right on the beach itself.

A place to visit in the daytime, is the unique Caveman's House. Built in complete defiance of all zoning regulations, common sense and style, this odd collection of bits and pieces thrown together to make a makeshift dwelling in the dunes on the beach - if the owner and occupant is home and in the mood, you might even be treated to a tour of his castle.

From one extreme to the next, why not take your car hire to one of the lavish and luscious hotels beach-side, and wake up with a cup of Israel's finest coffee. To pick up your car, you will need your voucher, passport, driver's license and a credit card. It is very important that your driver's license and credit card are in the same name as the main driver. Keep in mind that the local rental company will reserve a certain amount on your credit card as a deposit. This requires the PIN code for your credit card. If your driver's license is foreign (for example, in Chinese), you must bring a translation with you. Only your original passport and driver's license will be accepted - a copy is not sufficient.
