A short walk from the city centre you’ll find the best of nature at Blackbutt Reserve. The facilities here allow you close viewing of a wide variety of Australian wildlife. Just a short walk away is the majestic King Edward Park, which has spectacular coastal views and is only one out of an abundance of splendid parks in the city.

For wining and dining, try one of the harbourside bars, restaurants or cafes. Newcastle has much to offer after dark; when the sun's gone down there's a plethora of places to suit your tastes with some of the finest entertainment venues on Australia’s east coast.

If you’re feeling adventurous visit the Shipwreck Walk along Stockton Breakwall for fine views looking out over Stockton Bight Sand Dunes. Following this travel along Fullerton Road towards the Pacific Highway and pass through the glorious scenic countryside to Fern Bay.

Newcastle Airport is located 27km's or a 30 minute drive to Newcastle city centre. There are many frequent return services daily. If you are coming by car, the main access from Sydney is via the F3 Freeway. Avis, Budget, Europcar, Hertz and Thrifty are the suppliers operating from Newcastle Airport's main terminal.
