St. Julian’s Bay is a town on the island of Malta, along the northern coast. It is north of the capital city of Valletta and is known for its hotels, nightclubs, and restaurants. Before the nineteenth century, St. Julian’s didn’t exist, only a small church and a few fisherman’s huts sat in the general area. Until the British influence took upon the island of Malta, St. Julian’s was hardly anything. After the British influence, the town grew into a pleasant seaside resort where tourism is a booming business.

The patron saint that the town of St. Julian’s is named of is Julian the Hospitaller, or Julian the Poor. The memorial of St. Julian is celebrated on February 12, but the larger, additional feast that all Malta villages and towns are famous for, is celebrated in the summer, usually at the end of August.

Looking at the old fisherman’s villages, visitors can get a feel of what the island used to be like. But there is also plenty of opportunity to experience great nightlife, especially in the Paceville area where there is a concentration of bars and clubs, some open all night long.
