Malmö-Sturup International Airport has a fairly large passenger turnover, estimated at four million annually. Since the opening of the tunnel beneath the Ørsund, this airport has become a popular, cehaper alternativel for weekend breaks to Copenhagen.
There is only one passenger terminal to deal with incoming and outgoing, international and domestic flights. The terminal is equipped with 15 check-in desks, 11 gates and 8 air bridges. Airlines serving the airport are: Falcon, Malmö Aviation, Ryanair, SAS-Scandinavian, Skyways AB, Sterling and TNTA.
Malmö Airports passenger facilities include a post office, a bureau de change, a first aid centre, a baby/parent room, a business centre, and disabled access and facilities. There are several bars, restaurants and cafeterias, a VIP lounge, a duty-free shop, a newsagent/tobacconist, a gift shop and a pharmacy. There are also two airport hotels.
Malmö-Sturup Airport is situated 24kms east, southeast of Malmö and 24kms southeast of Lund. The Flygbussarna bus service connects the airport with Malmö central train station, and with Malmö and Lund city centres. It also connects the airport with Copenhagen. All these journeys take about 45 minutes and cost approximately 15 (SEK120) for a one-way fare. Taxis are also available from outside the airport building, but are much more expensive, costing about SEK400 one way. Always confirm the price of the journey before getting into your taxi.
Hourly parking at the airports parking lot costs SEK15. Twenty-four hour parking is also available rates for this vary between SEK80 and 120, depending on location. Parking spaces for the disabled are available free of charge for periods of under 24 hours, however, the disability marker must be clearly available on the car windscreen.
