Luxor Airport serves the Nile Valley area, a popular tourist destination. The airport has recently been upgraded to meet the constantly increasing influx of visitors.
There are two terminals at the airport serving domestic flights and international flights. There are eight check-in desks, five gates and three baggage claim belts. Airlines serving these terminals are: Air Cairo, Egyptair, Lotus Air, Memphis Air, Orca Air, Raslan Air and Scorbio Air.
Helpful amenities are comprehensive and include a bank, an automatic teller machine, an exchange bureau, a baby/parent room, a first aid department, a business centre and disabled access and facilities.
There is a variety of leisure facilities at the airport. There are several restaurants and cafeterias, a VIP Lounge, a duty free shop, a newsagent/tobacconist, a gift shop and a pharmacy.
The airport is situated six kilometres east of Luxor city. Taxis are available from outside the terminals and cost approximately 10. There is a regular bus service to the city centre which takes about 15 minutes, and special limousine services are also available.
