Perth is situated on the west coast of Australia near the continent’s south-western most point. Although quite a young city, there is still plenty of neo-classical architecture and colonial buildings tucked away around the downtown area. The city centre is situated on the Swan River and, on the west side, Perth rises to Kings Park which offers a pleasant view overlooking the city.
Transperth is the city’s central public transport system, operating buses, trains and ferries. If you’re feeling a bit more active, cycling is a great way to explore Perth and there are many enjoyable bicycle paths to be found around, and in the vicinity of, the city.
