Car Rental Perth - Exploring Perth
If youre planning a days outing, there is plenty to see both close to Perth itself and further afield, driving out into the surrounding wilderness.
There are a number of comfortable suburbs which fringe the Swan River enhanced by the Indian Oceans balmy beaches. Cosmopolitan Subiaco is a hillside hideaway where many a weary traveller stops to take a break. Romantic Fremantle, which hosted the Americas Cup in 1987, is far more laid-back and has a great waterfront atmosphere and interesting maritime history.
Further west, the suburbs extend as far as Scarborough and Cottesloe, beautiful beach spots for those wanting a moments breather from the urbanity of the neighbouring towns.
If you want to venture slightly further away from Perth itself, the whole of the South West is a lush hinterland filled with many amazing forests and beautiful seaside towns. Imparticular, the towns of Albany and Esperance both enjoy good climates and are a pleasant stop-over for anyone on a coastal tour.
Margaret River is home to many fertile winelands and is a popular resort for all wine connoisseurs. Close by, the incredible Karri and Jarrah forests near Bridgetown must also be seen.
In fact, although the South Coast is renowned for its remarkable coastline, it is most notable for its superb national parks. Must-sees include Shannon, Mount Franklin and West Cape Howe national parks.
